With its slight Darjeeling astringency and chewy peach prune/plum sweetness, this is an unusually aromatic Japanese black tea from the Kumamoto area of Kyushu in Japan. The secret is in the growing! Master Matsumoto uses the leaves from his great grandfather's 90-year-old Yabukita ancient tea trees grown without the use of any chemicals or fertilisers.
How To Enjoy: Use approximately 1 tsp per cup; use fresh, boiled water (95c) and infuse for 3 minutes.
The Matsumoto is currently out of season. We will get it back to you early summer though.
